Andrew Joseph Lafrance
February 4, 2004 - March 25, 2006

Born at Fair Oaks Hospital in Fairfax VA with many complicated health problems. Andrew touched the lives of many who knew him as he bravely fought his many challenges. Andrew is not gone, just removed to a better place awaiting the arrival of his loving parents Scott and Caroline LaFrance and his sisters; Chantelle , Angelique, Charlize LaFrance, his brother, Robert Jacob LaFrance, his grandmother Claudette LaFrance-Binette as well as his loving his aunts, uncles, cousins.

The family will be receiving friends from 6-9PM on Wednesday, March 29, 2006 at Mountcastle Funeral Home, 4143 Dale Blvd. Dale City, VA 22193. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church at Noon on Thursday, March 30, 2006.

Andrew's Long Stay

Andrew has been in the hospital now since December 28, 2005 and has been on a ventilator since December 31. He was on a BiPap machine, which was not forcing enough air into his longs to reinflate the atelectasis (collapsing of the alveoli) that was occuring in both lungs due to the severe pneumonia.

He is on Valium and Morphine to keep him sedated, plus tubocurarine to keep him paralyzed so he doesn't fight the ventilator. He is fed intravenously, as he is having an inidentified gastro-intestinal problem that is causing profuse diarrhea. He has also been placed on Pentobarbital occationally to assist in controlling his seizures.
